Congratulations to Rosaleen and her team - last night's inaugural "Friends of Glenravel" function was a real success. Great food, beautifully presented - showcasing the quality of events which we can now host with the new facilities. Well Done, Rosaleen - you richly deserve all the plaudits you received last night.

The 3 winners of the Friends of Glenravel monthly draws, each for £50, were:

November  '09 - Aeneas Carey, Glenravel

December  '09 - Norah Marquess, Glenravel

January '10 - Paul Higgins , Maghery ( ex-Glenravel!!)

Anyone wishing to join up on the Friends of Glenravel Group should contact Caitriona at the new Complex, or any member of the GCDA Committee. New members will be very welcome.

Ref: Requirement to do Fundamentals Course.
Strictly speaking this child protection course is for those parents who help in the running of Fundamentals.
Due to the age of the children involved we have sought for parents to remain with their children when Fundamentals is running. The trainer may ask from time to time for help from various parents in the running of different stations or in the setting up of stations. There are other occasions when the child may need to go to the toilet and the coach may ask a parent to ensure that the child returns to the hall directly after going to toilet. As the children get older parents may be asked to give lifts to children going to and from matches and accompany children on trips. These parents need to be covered by doing the child protection course.
Should all of the parents have completed the child protection course and get involved then it lightens the load.
All children are welcome to Fundamentals regardless.

The St Brendans Chairman has informed me that an U14 Team will be entered into the North Antrim Feile B Championship and possibly the NOrth Antrim League Div 2. What St Brendans require is a mentor from Glenravel to look after the Glenravel boys that would be participating in this U14 team. Any one interested please contact me or the Secretary of Con Magees

Could someone explain why all parents who have a child at Fundamentals need to complete the child protection course for insurance reasons. Is this not just for the parents who help facilitate the training. If a parent can not take this course due to other committments can their child still participate in Fundementals.

FOGRA/NOTICE
Friday evening 22nd January for child protection course & Saturday 23rd January for the foundation course ... anyone wishing to register please contact Ian McKeown 07747 445544.
For all those parents who have a child at Fundamentals IT IS NECESSARY THAT YOU COMPLETE the child protection course for insurance reasons. Should  you be able to commit to doing the foundation  course on the Saturday you would be made very welcome. This course assumes no prior knowledge of football whatsoever and we would especially ask that mothers take part in this. With it being our intention to start an U12 girls’ football team this year we will need more ladies to help out.

Fundamentals for P4 and P5 Boys and Girls
There will be a registration night for P4’s and P5’s Monday January 11th at 7pm in the Community Building at Fr.Maginn Park. Judging by the level of interest shown it will be decided whether to run an indoor session for this age group.

Fundamentals for Playgroup to P3 will resume in February

SCOR  2010

Language and culture are amongst the most important elements of Irish heritage, and through Scor, the GAA promotes Irish culture in a meaningful and enjoyable way. Competitions are held on a county basis each year with clubs competing in ceili dancing, solo singing, instrumental groups, recitation/ storytelling, ballad group, question time ( quiz ), novelty act ( amateur dramatics ) and set dancing. After the success of Conn Magees in last years county Scor competition, it is hoped that we will be well represented again this year. Anyone interested in any of the above should contact myself on 07753627573
