Dunloy 3-12 Glenravel 3-10 Another high scoring affair, only this time Glenravel came out the wrong end of a result in a game which they could have got something from right at the death. Glenravel started brightly and a Caolan McCambridge score on the 4th minute and continous pressure for the first ten minutes which kept Dunloy on the back foot hinted at another two league points. However a number of chances went a begging, Dunloy grew in confidence and when they opened Glenravel up for goals in the 11th, 12th and 19th minute and tossed over a few points it looked like a heavy defeat was on the cards. Perhaps the strightforward victories of late had created a false illusion among the players as they failed to apply themselves and played far too loose. The team reverted to type and hit aimless high passes that were easily swallowed up by the grateful Dunloy men. Half time Dunloy 3-5 to Glenravel 0-4 and 10 points to claw back. Stern words at half time and with the pack reshuffled a greater sense of urgency was shown on the pitch and a Declan Traynor goal on 38 minutes, a Karl Fitzpatrick point and a Gordon Dillon goal brought some respectability to the scoreline as the Green and Whites reeled in the opposition. Paul Francis McGuckin, Mark O'Connor and Joseph Scullion tightened up at the back, and with some excellent foraging from Conor McNeill, strong running from Traynor and the cultured left foot of Declan Diamond, the game entered a dramatic last 10 minutes - some poor shot selections, a hotly disputed goal not awarded and a penalty cooly slotted away just some of the features of this hectic period. Dunloy however continued to tag on the odd point; time was not kind on this occasion - the mountain was too big to climb, and a valiant effort just came up short, the damage being all done in the 20 minute spell before half time as another two point passed this team by.
